Jenna Fischer's best-known role was that of Pam Beesly from the popular television show The Office. In recognition of her performance, she won an Emmy award for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role and received 2 SAG Awards.
Her birthplace and childhood was within Fort Wayne in Indiana. Jenna spent her childhood watching her mother Anne performing in church plays. The experience instilled a love for theatre.
Theater actress with training, Fischer returned to her roots after wrapping The Office. In Off-Broadway's play Reasons to Be Happy written by Neil LaBute with Josh Hamilton and Leslie Bibb as co-stars, Fischer was a part of. The play was followed by her participation at the premiere world-wide of Steve Martin's new show Meteor Shower, an absurdist comedy opposite Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg, for a record-breaking run on the Old Globe Theatre.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer created Office Ladies, a podcast on Earwolf on October 19, 2019. The podcast has proven to be a huge success, reaching in the Top Ten worldwide every week, and receiving more than 200 million downloads in its first two-years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
She's also the author of The Actor's Life : A Survival Guide (coauthored by Angela Kinsey) The book tells her journey between St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming an actor is narrated.
