Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
My child played around inside a playpen, while I sat for 12 hours in sanding floors and removing wallpaper. Ha! We were getting close to finishing, but we were a long distance to go. To complete this task I was ready to spend a considerable amount of money and time shopping for my dream home. To keep my budget in good shape, I went out with my 3 boys looking for bargains at estate sales. Every week, we spent the week of Thursday through Saturday at garage sales and estate sales purchasing old and brand new furniture. After that, I painted and sanded in the driveway throughout the week. It was a bit like the picture below... This was where my passion for restoration of furniture started. When our home was furnished I couldn't quit! The local market had space for me to sell pieces. I could outgrow my space because I owned numerous pieces I was able to use. My home was where I began hosting open houses, where over 1,000 people were able to come in and buy any item they wanted from the first floor within a single weekend. Growing Days was founded in my house. When my business grew and so did our small family. As a young mom I was able to find the perfect balance to both start my own business and also being a decent mother. Growing Days seemed like the best fit. In 2013, my daughter Nora became our fourth child. My company was doing well however I needed a break. I decided to stop building my old furniture for a few months and spend time with my kids. It was exactly the thing I needed. After a few months that my phone began to call. People contacted me asking to assist them in interior decor and home renovations. A majority of these were the ones who had strolled through my home during the furniture open houses! I started taking on some customers one by one working at my own pace but it wasn't too time before I was running several accounts, and I was operating an entire home improvement business. Had you told me my company would become the premise for a DIY Network show, I likely would have laughed. As I reflect back, it makes me laugh.
