Richard B. Cheney a distinguished public servant and businessman is vice president of the United States. Cheney known as a popular figure within Washington politics, has served under four presidents in the United States. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush named Cheney his vice-presidential runningmate in 2000, due to the shrewdness and wisdom of Cheney. Dick Cheney was a chief of Staff to Presidents, worked for the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense, and served the nation in various positions. Both Republicans as well as Democrats respect him for his integrity. Cheney claims he's an unassuming but trustworthy adviser for Bush within his administration. Cheney expressed his excitement at accepting the Republican vice-presidential nomination. Cheney said Cheney is eager to work with a leader who can be a team player with individuals of different political views and with common goals. Richard Bruce Cheney (born January 30, 1941) was the son of Richard Herbert Cheney. His mother, Marjorie Lauraine Dickey had been wed to Richard Herbert Cheney for over thirty years. When he was 13 years old Richard and his family relocated across Nebraska, eventually moving to Casper in the state of Casper where his father was the head of Casper's U.S. Department of Agriculture local soil conservation district.
